John Benjamin “Rebel” Lamb, 83, of Smiths Station, AL died peacefully on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family while under the care of Columbus Hospice.
A Cryptside Service will be held at 2:00 PM (EST) on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, in Lakeview Memory Gardens with Elder James “Bug” Eiland officiating according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL.
Mr. Lamb was born April 02, 1942, in Bosie, ID son of the late John H. Lamb (Susan) and Mildred Howe. Rebel, as he was known best by his family and friends, was a biker from his youth. He bought his first Harley while living in California in 1965. Rebel was also a member of the Nuggets and Missing Links Motorcycle Riders and the Moose Lodge in La Puente, CA. he was a Millwright by trade, but later opened The Bike Barn in Smiths Station, AL where he built custom bikes for folks. Rebel was well thought of by his customers and was readily sought out to make custom builds.
On June 08, 1963, he married the love of his life, Barbara Troxel. They were soulmates and inseparable until her death in 2012. Mr. Lamb was also a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. His wife, Barbara, was influential in his joining the church. This decision had a positive impact on his life.
We will remember him and his generous heart. He was quick to offer help to those in need. Rebel was a good husband, dad, Papa and friend. He touched many lives through his work and friendships. Thank you for all of the good memories and happy times. We will always miss you but never forget you.
Mr. Lamb was preceded in death by his parents, John Lamb, stepmother, Susan Lamb, mother, Mildred Howe; wife, Barbara Troxel Lamb; sister, Myra Turnbow; a son Lewis Metivier and a grandson, Brett Metivier; son-in-law, Ren Davis and many club brothers of the Nugget and Missing Links.
Survivors include his three daughters, Kerry Wheeler, Deborah Davis and Michelle Duke; six grandchildren, Amber Mize (Kevin), Wendy Womack (Tanner), John Michael Shook (Shashana), Renagado Davis, Summer Mamoran (Ricky) and Jeseka Taylor; numerous great-grandchildren; several other family members and friends.
