Joyce Jaunita Davis

Joyce Jaunita Davis, 71, of Phenix City, AL passed away early Thursday morning, April 30, 2026, at Jack Hughston Memorial Hospital in Phenix City.

Mrs. Davis was born April 15, 1955, in Bartow, FL, she was the daughter of the late Pat Gilley and Hazel Inez Johnson Gilley. She was a lady of faith and great character who loved all her family dearly. She enjoyed sewing, tending to her flower garden, and admiring all the nature that surrounded her. She was tender-hearted, always feeding stray animals, deer, racoons, foxes, squirls, and enjoyed enticing all the beautiful hummingbirds that visited her flowers. She was a Christian and a Pentecostal by faith.

Other than her parents, she was preceded by three sisters, Joan Tucker, Marie Clemans, and Faye Spivey.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 53 years, David Oneal Davis of Phenix City, AL; two daughters, Tonya Higginbotham (Randy) of St. Augustine, FL and Tabitha Chapple (Keith) of Phenix City, AL; one son, Quentin Davis (Candice) of Phenix City, AL; three sisters, Wanda Harris of Phenix City, AL, Darlene Faircloth (Junior) of Seale, AL, and Dora Rudin (Carl) of Seale, AL; three brothers, James Gilley of Smiths Station, AL, Ernest Gilley of Salem, AL, and David Gilley (Karen) of Phenix City, AL; eight grandchildren, Brittany Morgan (Patrick), Brandi Higginbotham, Taye Chapple, Keith Chapple, Jr. (Riya), Joshua Chapple, Jasmine Chapple, Julius Davis, and Benton Jenks; one very precious great-granddaughter, Melody Chapple; numerous nieces, nephews; other loving family members, and many caring friends.

The family will receive friends and family Tuesday evening, May 5, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm EST at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City. The family will hold a private memorial service where Mrs. Davis will always be remembered, loved and never forgotten.
