June 24, 1953 — March 29, 2026

Mauk, Georgia

Juan Santos, 72, of Mauk, Georgia, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026, at his home. Born on June 24, 1953, in Bigfoot, Texas, Juan lived a life marked by dedication—to his family, his faith, and his country.

Juan honorably served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, honoring his nation with courage and commitment. Following his military service, he built a rewarding career working as an autoworker for the foundry at General Motors until his retirement. His work ethic and loyalty were evident to all who knew him.

A gentle giant with a heart as warm as his smile, Juan was often described as a teddy bear—kind, funny, and approachable. He was a dedicated Catholic who deeply embraced his faith, taking seriously his relationship with the Lord and consistently demonstrating the love of Christ to everyone he met. Juan's spirituality was a cornerstone of his life, guiding his actions and providing comfort to those around him.

In his free time, Juan could be found tinkering in the garage where he lovingly worked on old cars, especially his cherished cherry red GTO, or spending time outdoors. He loved being outside, even if he was just sitting in the sunshine for a little while. Juan was a member of the VFW, finding value in the camaraderie and fellowship shared with his fellow veterans.

Throughout his life, Juan's proudest accomplishment was his family. He treasured every moment spent with his loved ones, exemplifying the qualities of a true family man. Juan is survived by his children Jeremy Santos, Danielle Santos, Shannon Resendez, along with her wife Angel, Jamie Houtz, Chris Houtz, and Bonnie Gudenau; sister Lupe Bowers and her husband Mark; and brothers Erasmos Santos Jr. and Richard Santos, along with his wife Karen. His legacy also lives on through his beloved grandchildren: Morgan, Remington, Seth, Ayden, Jovonte, LaNyra, Louisdor, Jhani, Kashawn, Montrell, Ciera, Emily, Nathan, Jazmine, Zach, and Tamara.

Juan was preceded in death by his parents, Erasmos Santos and Felice Garcia Santos; his wife, Jeinelle; his beloved daughter, April Santos; and his brothers, George Santos and Joey Santos; grandchild Seth Houtz; and Myra Santos.

His passing marks the end of a remarkable journey defined by love, faith, and service. Juan Santos will be remembered with great respect and affection by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
