Kathryn Franklin Deliz

Kathryn Franklin Deliz, 89, of Smiths Station, Alabama, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, February 13, 2023, at Diversicare Nursing facility in Oneonta, Alabama.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM EST on Saturday, February 18, 2023, in the chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home located at 3738 U.S. Highway 431 North Phenix City, Alabama 36867 with Rev. Roy Kiser and Kathy Boling officiating. Inurnment at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Deliz was born in Columbus, Georgia the daughter of the late Homer Franklin and Inez Dorman C. Franklin. After graduating from Baker High School in Columbus, Georgia, Kathryn was working in a local pawn shop when she met the love of her life Daniel Deliz. After a brief courtship, Kathryn decided that “Daniel looked like somebody needed to take care of him,” so she agreed to marry Daniel and became an “Army Wife.” Mrs. Deliz worked in banking most of her adult life until she retired. She loved to read and as a child she would get into trouble by foregoing her chores to hide in a tree and read. Above all, she loved her family and enjoyed the time she spent with them.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Deliz was preceded in death by two sons John Deliz and Thomas Deliz; sister Barbara Franklin Brown; brother Homer C. Franklin and granddaughters Kailia Deliz and Heather Deliz.
Those left to cherish her memory is her husband of 70 years Daniel Deliz; daughter Kathy Deliz Boling (Jeff) of Jacksonville, AL; sons Michael Deliz (Pam) of Birmingham, AL, Frank Deliz of Las Vegas, NV and Mark Deliz (Nancy) of Oneonta, AL; sister Becky Kiser (Roy) of North Augusta, SC; brothers Jack Franklin of Smiths Station, AL and Ray Franklin (Katie) of Phenix City, AL; grandchildren Jason Deliz, Daniel Deliz, Keri Price, Marisa Bain, Robby Bain, Jordan Deliz, Tony Deliz and Kai Deliz Posey and numerous great grandchildren and extended family.
