Keith Carlisle

Dana Keith Carlisle, 72, of Phenix City, AL, passed away peacefully at his home on April 25th, 2025 while surrounded by his family and under the care of Columbus Hospice.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Eastern Time (EST) on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Philadelphia Baptist Church, officiated by Reverends Clay Duck and Donald Edwards, according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL. A private interment will follow at Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery at a later date. The family will hold a visitation at the church on Sunday from 2:00 PM (EST) until the funeral hour.

Keith was born on September 1, 1952, in Phenix City, AL, son of the late Emory Carlisle and Barbara Herring Carlisle. He was raised in Phenix City until his father's job relocated the family to Illinois. He lived there for several years, completing high school and beginning his career. During this time, he met his wife. In the fall of 1998 Keith, his wife Cherie, and their three children moved back to the Phenix City area. Keith dedicated his working life to Retail Sales, where he achieved great success. He was an avid fan of SEC football and Major League Baseball, particularly the Alabama Crimson Tide and the St. Louis Cardinals. Keith also enjoyed working on model trains and, occasionally, model cars. He was also known for spontaneously singing folk songs.

Keith will be deeply missed in our daily lives, and he will remain forever in our hearts.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Emory Douglas and Barbara Moderette Carlisle, and his daughter, Jordan Leigh Carlisle.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Cherie Dowling Carlisle of Phenix City, AL; two children, Douglas Lee Carlisle and Kaitlyn Nicole Carlisle; three siblings, Wanda Leah Magana (Larry), Renee Timothy Carlisle (Cheryl), and Royce Carlisle (Dorothy “Dot”); two grandchildren, Cameron and Lilly; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
