Kenny Darrell Mayo

October 21, 1970 — June 3, 2025

Phenix City, AL

Kenny Darrell Mayo, 54, of Phenix City, AL died at Jack Hughston Hospital on Tuesday, June 03, 2025.

Private Graveside Services were held in Lakeview Memory Gardens according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL.

Born on October 21, 1970, Kenny was the son of the late Kenneth M. Mayo. He was the proud owner of Mayo Heating and Air Conditioning, a venture he began with determination and faith. His commitment to his customers earned him a reputation as the trusted "go-to guy" for heating and air conditioning needs, with many clients choosing his services over others.

In addition to his expertise in HVAC, Kenny was known as a "jack of all trades." He demonstrated remarkable skills in construction, playing a pivotal role in various projects from inception to completion. His work included maintenance at St. Francis Hospital and assisting FEMA in rebuilding communities affected by disasters.

Kenny's big heart and humble spirit were qualities cherished by many. He was always quick to lend a helping hand, expecting nothing in return. His warm personality naturally drew people to him.

His love for his wife, Anissa, was evident in the way he expressed his affection, ensuring that their home was filled with fresh flowers daily. He extended this warmth by sharing thoughtful cards and gifts with his mother-in-law whom he loved dearly and called Mama K, as well as with his Lil Sista, Vanessa.

Although his absence will leave a significant void in the lives of those who knew and loved him, we are thankful for the love, laughter, and treasured moments shared with him.

Mr. Mayo was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth “Ken” Melburn Mayo; his father-in-law, John Jeffrey “Jeff” Tidmore and grandparents-in-law, Earl and Beatrice Carmack.

Survivors include his wife, Anissa Tidmore Mayo, Phenix City, AL; “mother”, Kay Carmack Tidmore; “sister”, Vanessa Tidmore Malcolm (Dennis); brother, Mathew Mayo (Kristy Rogers); three children, Kenny D. Mayo, II, Tamra Elizabeth Osborne (Joe) and Megan Jenice Adams (Johnathan); grandchildren and several other family members and friends.
