Larry Roger Alexander, 84, of Seale, AL, passed away peacefully in his home on July 23, 2025. A private service will be held at a later date.

Larry Alexander was born in LaFayette, GA, on July 6, 1941, to the late Samuel Paul and Bernice Aileen Alexander. After graduating high school Larry joined the United States Army as a helicopter pilot. During his service he attended college and married his hometown sweetheart, Carolyn Alexander, remaining her devoted and loving husband for 63 years. During the Vietnam war, Larry accrued 1,286 combat flight hours and 29 air medals. Larry was very patriotic and once he retired after 20 years, he remained passionate about the military. He was a huge supporter of the Infantry Museum at Ft. Benning and helped raise money for the WWII memorial in Washington D.C. Larry was known as a talker, enjoying showing people his “war room” and talking about military memories. He was also an avid farmer and served as the Director for the Alabama Farmers Federation, a member of the Cattleman Association, and was an avid lover of the Kawita Club. Larry was the founder of Russell Bermuda Grass, having the mother plot on his farm, Eagle’s Landing. He was a big fan of antique tractors, especially John Deere, and spending time at home on his farm or watching old westerns. Other than storytelling and history, Larry loved going to the casino and Jack Daniels whiskey. He was seen as dry and stern, but he was mostly known as a funny and sarcastic family man who was very generous and loving. Larry always looked forward to his Friday night dates with his wife at Outback Steakhouse where they had their own spot and waitress. He has an impressive gun collection and was a huge Trump supporter. Larry was also a successful self-taught stock investor. He was a special man who touched the lives of many people. Larry will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
