Larry Carden

Larry Carden, born on July 21,1964, departed this life on May 30, 2025, at his home. Larry was a cherished member of his family and community, whose legacy will be remembered by many.

He dedicated over 23 years of his life to the Columbus Fire Department, where he exemplified unwavering commitment and dedication. His hard work and determination were recognized when he was named Outstanding Cadet of the Year in 1994. Prior to his esteemed career at the fire department, Larry held various positions within the Columbus consolidated government, showcasing his strong work ethic and dedication to public service. In addition to his achievements as a firefighter, he proudly served as a soldier in the Army, further demonstrating his commitment to his country.

Larry retired from the Columbus Fire Department in 2014, leaving behind a lasting impact on the community he so faithfully served.

He is survived by his beloved daughter, Tiffany Carden, and his brothers Dennis Carden (Shay) of Columbus and Ronnie Carden (Peggy) of Phenix City, Alabama. He is also survived by his sister, Amanda Walker (Scott) of Columbus, and his cherished grandchildren, Caleb Carden Money and Emma Lane.

Larry joins in peace with his beloved wife, Patricia Carden, and his son, Steve Carden. He is also reunited with his parents, Elizabeth Tidwell and Horace Carden, as well as his brothers, Jeffrey and Edwin Carden.
