Larry M. Madere

Mr. Larry M. Madere, 69, of Smiths Station, AL passed away Friday, January 16, 2026 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 pm Monday, January 19, 2026, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL with Rev. Donnie Lumpkin officiating. Interment will follow at a later date at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Albany, LA. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm EST, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.

Mr. Madere was born May 5, 1956 in New Orleans, LA, son of the late Edward Madere and Rosemary Jones Madere. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. After his time in the service, Mr. Madere worked most of his career with the Pipefitters Union in various industrial facilities. He was known as a man with a big heart. Mr. Madere loved cooking and feeding his friends and family. His other passion was dancing. Mr. Madere was a faithful member of The Rock Church and one of the founding donors for The Rock Academy. Above all, he cherished the time he got to spend with his family.

Other than his parents, Mr. Madere was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Gaudet Madere; a daughter, Carrie Jones; two grandchildren, Trinity and Jaxson Jones; a sister, Carol Vicknair and a brother, Butch Madere.

He is survived by a daughter, Anjanette Thomas and husband Jimmy; a brother, Gus Madere and wife Sue; grandchildren, Elizabeth Pace, Christine Pace, John Porterfield, Karston Thomas (Madisyn) and Zoe Bambulkar (Nihal); great-grandchildren, Brayden Pace, Kenneth Almadover, Alex Almadover, Elijah Pace, Harmoni Meadows, Elena Lober and Linda Porterfield; as well as extended family and friends.
