Lucy Bernice Colley

Lucy “Bernice” Goodrich Colley, 90, of Phenix City, AL died on Sunday, May 1, 2022 while at her home surrounded by her family.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM (EST) on Thursday, May 05, 2022 at First Presbyterian Church, Phenix City, AL with Dr. Thom Peavey officiating according to Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
Mrs. Colley was born September 04, 1931 in Green Cove Springs, FL. Daughter of the late Julian S. Goodrich and Lucy Cadwell Goodrich. She was a member of First Presbyterian of Phenix City, AL for many years. Mrs. Colley was a dietitian at both Doctors Hospital and St. Francis and was the former owner of L.B. Enterprises, Tax Services. She was a Girl Scout leader, Campfire Girls leader, Cub Scouts leader, Pink Lady, a member of the Fleet Reserve Association, NARFE Chapter 1899, the Red Hat Society and an AARP volunteer at the Phenix City Library during tax season. She will be deeply missed by generations of family who love her and value the lessons that she taught us.
Mrs. Colley was preceded in death by her husband of 66 ½ years, Edward “Ed” Colley; a daughter, Deborah L. Colley Williams; sister, Katherine Luck and brother, Irvin Goodrich.
Survivors include her four children, Harry J. Colley (Mary Kay), Green Cove Springs, FL, Cheryl C. Copeland (Fred), Lake Harding, AL, Martin E. Colley (Tammy), Columbus, GA and Allen S. Colley (Lynne), Smiths Station, AL; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
The family wishes to thank her loving caregivers, Gail Flannagan, Ruby Jenkins, Betty Kirby, Jeanette Brooks and Maria Wolff, and the professional and caring team at Columbus Hospice.
