A dedicated nurse, Sandy spent many years providing compassionate care at various facilities, including Muscogee Manor and Oak Manor Nursing Home. Her graciousness extended beyond her professional life into the hearts of her family and friends. Sandy was known for her wonderful sense of humor and her ability to love unconditionally. She had a natural wit that could light up a room, and her spirit was nothing short of infectious.
A proud member of the Lady's Auxiliary of St. Anne's, Sandy found joy in giving back to her community. She loved traveling, particularly indulging in over 30 cruises with her devoted husband of more than 36 years, Marcus Rogers. Together, they created countless memories filled with laughter and adventure. Sandy's hobbies also included her passion for reading and listening to music, especially the timeless tunes of old school rock 'n' roll, dancing, and going to see plays and musicals. She had a remarkable ability to weave her creativity into every aspect of her life, turning houses into warm and inviting homes.
As a devout Catholic, Sandy cherished her faith and attended services at St. Anne's in Columbus for many years, where she found strength and solace. Above all, her greatest pride was her family. Sandy held a deep admiration for her son, Jordan Kelly, and her granddaughter, Eileen Kelly, who was the light of her life. Her love for them was profound and unwavering, leaving a legacy of warmth that will be felt for generations to come.
Sandy is survived by her devoted husband, Marcus, who considers himself blessed to have known and loved her; her beloved son Jordan and his wife, Sidika; her cherished granddaughter Eileen; her sister Linda Buddle; and her brother John Wilkey. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Madeline Wilkey.
Sandy will forever be remembered for her kindness, her sense of humor, and the love she so freely offered. Her journey may have come to an end, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched.
