Mrs. Margaret Lakey Weaver

Mrs. Margaret Lakey Weaver, 102, of Phenix City, AL passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023 at Parkwood Health Care in Phenix City, AL.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 am Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Lakeview Memory Gardens according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends at the cemetery after the service.

Mrs. Weaver was born February 25, 1921 in Phenix City, AL, daughter of the late Curtis Henry Lakey and Catherine Louise Harvey Lakey.  She worked as a Sales Associate for J. A. Kirvens Department Store for over 15 years. Mrs. Weaver was very active in the community, serving as a member of the Eastern Star, the Daughters of the Nile, and the Arlington Women’s Club.  Later in life she was a member of the Sweet Spirits Senior Group.  Additionally, she was a long time member of Lakewood Baptist Church, where she attended the Seekers Sunday Class.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Hurt Weaver and a son, Ben Alan Weaver.

She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Weaver Head and husband Ronnie of Phenix City, AL; six grandchildren, Christopher Weaver (Dawn), Brandy Weaver, Stephen Weaver, Abigail Head, Julie Savage (David) and Jeremy Head; ten great-grandchildren; several extended family member and friends.
