Maria “Emma” Rosa Childree

Maria “Emma” Rosa Childree, 16 of Hatchechubbee, AL passed away peacefully early Thursday morning on January 12, 2023 at the Bethany House in Auburn, AL while surrounded by her loving family.

Emma was born July 20, 2006 in Opelika, AL and adopted by her loving parents Thomas G. Childree and Mary Beth Byrnes Childree.  Emma’s personality affected everyone with joy, warmth, and smiles of sunshine especially all her family and all the ones around her.  She was a member of the Beit HaSha’ar Messianic Fellowship Church in Phenix City, AL

Emma was preceded in death by her brother, Benjamen Isaiah Childree, and her grandparents, Matthew and Dorothy Byrnes and Robert and Loyce Childree, and a niece, Gracelyn Isabelle Childree.

She is survived by her parents, Thomas and Mary Beth Childree, five sisters, Ashley Childree Sexton of Smiths Station, AL, Anna Childree Persons and husband Josh of Ladonia, AL, Millicent Naomi Childree of Ft. Mitchell, AL, Samantha Childree of Auburn, AL, and Ashley Gabrielle Childree of Seattle, WA, five brothers, Joshua T. Childree and wife Kalee of Salem, AL, Timothy J. Childree and wife Monica of Tallassee, AL, Zachariah Childree of Kennesaw, GA, John Terrance Childree  and Shawn Michael Childree both of Hatchechubbee, AL, numerous other loving family members, friends and her loving church family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 CST/11:00 EST on Monday January 16, 2023 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City with Rabbi Greg Lehtimaki officiating.  Interment will follow at Hatchechubbee United Methodist Church Cemetery in Hatchechubbee, AL.  The family will receive friends on Monday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home in Phenix City.
