Mary Avis Pough Mcpherson

Mary Avis Pough McPherson, 88, of Smiths Station, AL died peacefully while at her home with her family by her side on Wednesday, June 29, 2022.

Funeral Services will be held at Saturday, July 2, 2022 at 10:00 AM (EST) in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Rev. John Duffey and Rev. Scott Aspden officiating. A private interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.

Mrs. McPherson was born November 14, 1933 in Crenshaw County, AL daughter of the late Clifton Price Pough and Helen Gertrude Lowman Pough. She was a long-time member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Mrs. McPherson was a homemaker who loved her children, but especially the grandchildren.  She is already missed by her family and friends.

Mrs. McPherson was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Willie Wayne McPherson.

Survivors include her two sons, Dennis Pough McPherson (Donna) of Waverly Hall, GA and Alan Wayne McPherson of Columbus, GA; five grandchildren, Heather, Kirby, Ross, Xanadu and Cameron; four great-grandchildren, Haley, Conner, Marley and Lilly; special friend and sister in life, Carolyn Garnett; several other family members and friends.
