Mary Kathryn Shine Devlin, 69, of Smiths Station, AL, entered her heavenly home on November 20, 2025. Services will be announced at a later date.
Kathy Devlin was born in Niceville, Florida on December 17, 1955, to the late James Robert Shine and Glennie Ruth Bowers. After graduating from high school, Kathy married the love of her life, Larry Devlin, and remained his faithful and devoted wife for 51 years until her passing. She attended Troy State University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree, then worked as the Registrar for Troy State University until retirement. Kathy was an incredible cook and her family always looked forward to her meals. In the summers, she would plant vegetables with her husband, notably her peppers and tomatoes. She was very artistic and was often found doodling, drawing, and doing calligraphy. Kathy was a huge fan of Auburn Football and was passionate about sports. She loved animals and most of all, loved to spoil her two grandchildren. Kathy will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
Other than her parents, Kathy Devlin is preceded in death by her step-father, Eugene King; sister, Pat Greene; and brother, Bob Shine,
Kathy is survived by her husband, Larry Devlin; son, Dave Devlin; step-sister, Jeannette Burdett (Scott); and grandchildren, Price Devlin and Delaney Devlin.
