Mary Eckert

Mary Nell Eckert, 74, of Cusseta, AL died at her home while in the arms of her beloved daughter, Julie on Sunday, February 13, 2022.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM (EST) on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Rev. David Helms officiating. A private interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM till 2:00 PM (EST) on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Ms. Eckert was born March 10, 1947 in Langdale, AL daughter of the late Edgar McPherson Wilson and Nellie Louise Franklin Wilson. She had retired from the Sate of Georgia working in the Health Department as an accountant. Ms. Eckert loved the outdoors and spent as much time there as she could working in the yard, enjoying time with family and friends and just soaking in the sights and sounds of nature. We will miss her in our daily routine, but she will always be cherished in our hearts.
Ms. Eckert was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Randall “Randy” Frank Lanier, a daughter, Phyllis Christine Bowman and a grandson, Jason Aldean Lanier.
Survivors include her one son, Johnny Lanier (Juanita); three daughters, Lisa McEwen (Randy), Laura Hunt (Leo) and Julie Hamby (Paul); one sister, Juliet Wilson Day; several grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and friends.
