Mary Ann Howard

Mary Ann Morton Howard of Opelika, Al. went peacefully in her sleep on February 16, 2026, in the home of her son, William “Bill” Hall and Neva Hall. A visitation will be held at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL 36867, on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 1:00 pm EST followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm EST officiated by Rev. John Alexander. A private burial will take place at a later time at Morton Family Cemetery.

She was born on January 1, 1932, the daughter of the late Will Morton and Katie Bell Morton of Phenix City, Al. Mary Ann was a registered nurse for 45 years and was well known for her love and devotion to her patients. She loved to travel and did so all over the US with her late husband, Bobby Howard. Mary Ann will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, Bobby Howard; parents, William A. Morton and Katie Bell Gilbert Morton; sisters, Lucile Clegg, Odesa Collier, Juanita Thames, Harriet Sanders; brother, Sonny Howard Morton; daughter in law, Shirley Hall; son in law, Jim Hannah; grandchildren, Londy Eiland, and Dave Hall; and great-grandson, Lonnie Ray Hall, Jr.

Mrs. Howard is survived by her sons, William “Bill” Hall Jr., and daughter in law, Neva Hall of Opelika, Al, and David W. Hall of Phenix City, Al; daughter, Sheila Dianne Hannah of Winston, Ga; beloved grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
