Mary Love Tice Smith

Mary Love Tice Smith, 104, of Smith Station, Alabama, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, December 29, 2022, while a resident of Arrabella Healthcare.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM EST, on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home located at 3738 U.S. Highway 431 North Phenix City, AL with Bro. Donald Edwards officiating. A private interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM EST on Monday evening at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith was born in Phenix City, Alabama, the daughter of the late Samuel Oscar Tice and Lovely Anna Meadows Tice. Mrs. Smith retired from Kirven’s Department Store after nearly 30 years in Customer Service. One of her greatest passions in life was playing the piano and for over forty years she was the pianist at Crawford Baptist Church. She also enjoyed sharing her talents by teaching others how to play. Mrs. Smith also enjoyed raising flowers and gardening. Above all, she loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband Jasper Smith, sons Robert Lawrence Smith and Jerald Smith and a daughter Joy Smith Lim.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son Donald Smith and his wife Marie of Smith Station, AL; son in law Dr. Heng Lim of Hummelstown, PA; brother Emmitt Tice and wife Frances of Phenix City, AL; ten grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a special friend Donald Knapp.
