Mary Stockwell

May 21, 1940 — August 17, 2023

In loving memory of Mary Stockwell, a devoted mother and a beacon of love and kindness, who passed away peacefully in her home on August 17, 2023. Born on May 21, 1940 to Gaines and Edna Miller, Mary’s life was a testament to the power of unwavering love, faith, and service.

As a single mom, Mary embraced challenges with grace and determination, raising her three children with boundless love and tireless dedication. Her nurturing spirit created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and a deep sense of togetherness. Her love knew no bounds, and her children were the recipients of her constant support and encouragement.

Mary’s faith in Jesus was the cornerstone of her life. Her love for God radiated through every interaction she had, and she extended this love to everyone fortunate enough to cross her path. She never knew a stranger. She was always eager to start a new friendship, share her testimony of Jesus, send inspiring text messages or become a personal prayer warrior to anyone in need.

One of Mary’s defining traits was her smile and infectious laughter. She had a remarkable ability to find joy in every situation, and her laughter was a source of comfort and happiness for those around her.

Mary’s life was a testament to her commitment to serving and helping others. She found fulfillment in extending a helping hand to those in need, and her acts of kindness touched the lives of many. Her legacy of service will continue to inspire those who knew her, reminding them of the difference one person’s compassion can make.

Mary leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness. She is survived by her three children and their spouses, her grandchildren, her “adopted” daughters, sons, and grandchildren and a community of friends and loved ones whose lives were enriched by her presence.

A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Evangel Church at 11:00 a.m ET. Services will be live-streamed at https://watch.evangel.live.
