Melvin Roy Roberts

SFC Retired Melvin Roy Roberts, 62, of DeFuniak Springs, FL passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at the VA Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care in Biloxi, MS.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm EST Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City.  Interment with full Military Honors will follow at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Melvin was born August 9, 1953 in Laramie, WY to the late Roy William Roberts and Elaine Henrietta Freeman Roberts.  He was a Veteran of the United States Army and was retired with 20 years of service.  He was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in Roosevelt, UT. He enjoyed Alabama Football, fishing, shooting pool, dancing, and music.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Kerry Ervin Roberts, children, Mark Chappell, Sherri Chappell Slay and husband Michael, and Matt Chappell.
