Michael “Mike” Aubrey Dunn, 56, of Smiths Station, AL, passed away at his home on Sunday, April 27, 2025.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM (EST) on Sunday, May 4, 2025, in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL, with Rev. Shannon Poole officiating. A private interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the hour funeral at the funeral home on Sunday.
Mr. Dunn was born on February 22, 1969, in Phenix City, AL, the son of Mary Armstrong Cotton and the late Charles Michael “Mickey” Dunn. He was a financial controller by profession and had recently joined the team at Bio-Touch.
Mike was an all-around sports fan with a special passion for Alabama football. He loved being in the stadium on game day whenever possible. Game days at home were just as special, as he “coached and refereed” from the couch, surrounded by the people he loved most.
Above all else, Mike was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He poured his heart into his family, making sure they felt supported, protected, and deeply loved. He was the kind of man who showed up—for celebrations, quiet moments, and everything in between. The bond he shared with his wife, Tracy, was built on love, laughter, and a deep, abiding happiness that was evident to all who knew them. He took great pride in his children and grandchildren, watching them grow, learn, and thrive, passing life lessons on along the way.
Mike was a trivia buff and an expert at assembling intricate jigsaw puzzles, often framing them for others to admire. He loved listening to all kinds of Rock music and was always ready for a trip, be it a road trip, a flight to an exciting destination, or a cruise.
He was also gifted with his hands, able to fix almost anything and build with a craftsman’s eye for detail and quality. Mike’s projects were labors of love, just like everything he did for his family.
While all of these things were part of who he was, it was the way he loved that left the deepest mark. His memory will live on in every story shared, every lesson passed down, and every moment spent together. Thank you, Mike, for showing us how to love fully, live joyfully, and give generously.
He is survived by his wife, Tracy Spear Dunn of Smiths Station, AL; three daughters, Lauren Vete (husband, Johnny), Hali Dunn, and Keely Davidson; four sons, Carter Jordan (wife, Jordan), Caulin Jordan, Canton Jordan, and Cooper Jordan; one sister, Tammie Johnson; three grandchildren, Chandler, Eden, and Harrison; several other family members and friends; and his beloved dogs, Cash and Jax.
