Michael Frank “Mike” Cox

Michael Frank “Mike” Cox, 53, of Smiths Station, AL, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 with services at 12:00 noon EST, on Friday, June 27, 2014, at Vance Memorial Chapel. The family will have a private interment.

Mike was born on October 10, 1960, in Phenix City, AL, the son of the late Jack and June Cox. He was a mechanic/manager of Five Points Garage for 35 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, involved in many fishing/hunting clubs and loved Auburn Football and NASCAR. Mike was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Sonia Cox of Smiths Station, AL; 2 sons, Michael Cox, wife Kaylee of Salem, AL and Tyler Cox of Smiths Station, AL; 3 siblings, Neva Rollings of Cartersville, GA, Jackie Cox of Eminence, MO, and David L. Dawson of Smiths Station, AL; granddaughter, Kadence Cox; many nephews, nieces, cousins and other extended family.
