Nannie Lee Smith, 90, of Phenix City, AL passed away peacefully on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2025, at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am EST on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus, GA with Rev. Boyd Cochran officiating. The family will receive friends at the graveside service.
Mrs. Smith was born May 17, 1935, in Phenix City, AL. She was the daughter of the late William Henry Carroll and Texas Ophelia Watkins Carroll. She worked in administration with the Columbus Consolidated Government and was retired with many years of faithful service. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved her family deeply. She loved reading, cooking, crossword puzzles, and enjoyed spending time outside observing all the beautiful nature. Mrs. Smith was a Christian and a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Phenix City.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, and her one and only sister, Libba Richardson.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 71 years, Robert Kay Smith of Phenix City, AL; son, Ken Smith and wife Sherri of Alabaster, AL; daughter, Anne Clark and husband David of Auburn, AL; three grandchildren, Rebecca Clark Henderson (Matt), Cory Smith (Leen), and Elizabeth Clark Hyatt (Blayne); four precious great grandchildren, George Henderson, Freddie Henderson, Mary Clark Hyatt, and Zane Smith, and several extended loving family members, church family, and many caring friends.
