Neil E. Kite

Mr. Neil E. Kite, 91, of Phenix City, AL passed away Tuesday May 28, 2024, at his home.

A memorial service will be held 3:00 pm EDT Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL with Rev. Jonathan Pike officiating.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 pm EDT, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.

Mr. Kite was born July 2, 1932, in Russell County, AL son of the late David Eugene Kite and Bernice Bishop Kite.  He worked with Bell South for over 32 years before retiring.   Mr. Kite enjoyed sailing and spent many hours working on the family farm.  He was a former member of Crawford Baptist Church and an active member of Woodland Baptist Church. 

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 61 years, Alice Eugenia Tillery Kite and a son, Neil Timothy Kite.

Mr. Kite is survived by his wife, Cora Broadwater Kite; a daughter, Kathryn Lynch and husband John of Jasper, GA; a son, Richard E. Kite and wife Terri of Phenix City, AL; grandchildren, Tarin Leigh Bivins (Philip), Katie Moon (Jordan), Laura Barton (Phillip) and Stewart D. Kite (Lauren); great-grandchildren, Luke Thomas Conrad, Harper Ann Bivins, Lula Kathryn Jones, Hayden Bivins, Sullivan Jones, Clara Michael Jones, Collins Kite, Brewer Kite and Maggie Moon; step-daughter, Kathy Dean, step-son, Mark Miller (Tammie), step-grandchildren, Keith Hand (Heather), Dustin Miller (Holly), Taylor Folmar (Justin Folmar), Tracy Devine (Dustin), step-great-grandchildren, Waylon, Olivia, and Raelyn, other extended family and friends.

His family would like to express a special gratitude of thanks and appreciation to all the staff of Gentiva Hospice for the care and love shown to Mr. Neil Kite and the Kite family.
