Normand Robert Michaud Jr., a cherished member of his community, departed this life on April 24, 2025, at his residence in Seale, Alabama. Born on November 30, 1964, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Normand lived a life fueled by passion, family, and his affinity for collecting treasures that many may have overlooked. He worked diligently at G&B Battery, embodying a strong work ethic and dedication that served as an inspiration to those around him.
Normand's warm, engaging spirit was reflected in his memorable saying: "One Man's junk is another man's treasure." This sentiment captures not only his love for collecting but also his perspective on life - seeing potential and beauty in the thing’s others might dismiss. He was a collector, finding joy in the little things and sharing this passion with friends and family alike.
His loving family will forever carry his memory. He is survived by his devoted daughter Mary Michaud of Phenix City, AL, and his son Normand Robert Michaud III. Normand is also survived by two beloved sisters, Norma Jean Smith and Wendy Lee Evans, both of Phenix City, AL. The sparkle in Normand’s eyes shone brightest when he was surrounded by his six precious grandchildren: Jennifer Swinford, Michael "Bubba" Swinford, Xavier Michaud, Grayson Michaud, RuthAnn Michaud, and Alora Michaud. He is also survived by his great nephew Dominick Cantelli, his great niece Angelique Cantelli, and many other loving members of family. Each of them holds a unique piece of his heart, a testament to the deep bonds he nurtured throughout his life.
Normand was preceded in death by his beloved wife of thirty years, Linda Faye McAllister Michaud, whose love remained a guiding force in his life. He also mourned the loss of his daughter Kristina Michaud Swinford, leaving an indelible mark on his heart. Additionally, he is remembered by his two brothers-in-law, Cecil F. Smith and Joe Evans, who cherished their time together.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Normand's life during the visitation scheduled for Monday, May 5, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM (EST) at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, Alabama (3738 US-431, Phenix, AL 36867).
