Mrs. Pam Griggs, 72, of Seale, AL passed away Sunday, March 29, 2026 at the Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, GA.
A celebration of life service will be held 2:00 pm EST on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL with Rev. David Hardwick officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:00 until 2:00 pm EST at the funeral home.
Mrs. Griggs was born June 25, 1953, in Columbus, GA, daughter of the late Joe Rumph and Louise Fuller Rumph. She was a devoted wife, grandmother, and beloved matriarch whose greatest joy was her family. She was the heart of every gathering, the steady presence that brought everyone together with love, laughter, and a warm meal always waiting.
As a wife, she shared a life rooted in love, partnership, and unwavering devotion. The bond she built with her husband was a cornerstone of the family she cherished so deeply.
Her kitchen was a place of comfort and connection, where the smell of her cooking could turn any ordinary day into something special. Sunday dinners were a cherished tradition—filled with good food, full plates, and even fuller hearts. No one ever left her table hungry, and everyone left feeling loved.
She found peace and strength in her faith, faithfully attending church and living her life with quiet grace, kindness, and compassion. Her faith guided her in everything she did and shaped the love she so freely gave to others.
She was also her family’s biggest supporter, never missing a ball game and cheering proudly from the stands. Whether it was a small local game or a big moment, she was always there encouraging, celebrating, and believing in her loved ones.
Some of her happiest times were spent down in Keaton, where she enjoyed fishing, scallops and soaking in the simple joys of life. She also loved riding horses with her family, creating memories filled with laughter, freedom, and togetherness. Those moments will forever be treasured by those who shared them with her.
Above all, she was a loving grandmother and devoted wife whose legacy lives on in the traditions she created, the values she instilled, and the love she gave so freely. Her family was her world, and she made sure they always knew it.
She will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Jaxson Cole Griggs and a brother, Keith Rumph.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, John E. Griggs, Sr.; two sons, Johnny Griggs, Jr. and wife Amy and Jamie Griggs and wife Missey; grandchildren, Madison Thomas (Austin), Jaycee Craw (Ethan), Lane Griggs and Anna Grace Griggs; a special niece, Kristi Rumph, as well as several extended family and friends.
