Mrs. Peggy Corbett McClain, 76, of Phenix City, AL passed away Thursday, September 18, 2025 at Piedmont Midtown Medical Center in Columbus, GA.

Due to Peggy’s wishes and to allow renovations to her church’s sanctuary to be completed, a Celebration of Life will be held 6:00 pm Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at First Assembly of God Church, 3777 Hwy 431 S, Phenix City, AL with Pastor Nelson Lugo officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm, at the church before the service.

Mrs. McClain was born August 18, 1949 in Brunswick, GA, daughter of the late Olen Carter and Pearl Anderson Carter. She obtained a Masters Degree in Counseling and worked as a Counselor for many years, with her last position being with Teen Challenge. Mrs. McClain enjoyed taking care of her yard and was passionate about painting. She also had a girls group that she adored, which included Naomi, Jan, Debbie, Barbara and Peggy. However, above all she loved spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren. Mrs. McClain was a faithful member of First Assembly of God in Phenix City, AL, where she taught Sunday School for many years and also provided pro bono counseling.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ellis Carter and two sisters, Blanch King and Myrtle Lee.

She is survived by her husband, Terry McClain; her children, Chance Corbett and wife Jennifer, Heath Corbett and wife Brandee, Brandon Corbett, and Dana Murphy and husband Andrew, ; sisters, Carrie Cannon and Opal Carter; a brother, Lewis Carter and wife Sherry; grandchildren, Colten, Alice, Peyton, Taylor (Patrick), Jackson, Cameron, Kirstine (Nick), Gracen, and Korbyn; great-grandchildren, Carter, Paislynne and Kasen; as well as several extended family and friends.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to First Assembly of God Church, 3777 US Hwy 431 S, Phenix City, AL 36867.
