Phillip David Files

Phillip David Files, 73, of Columbus, GA, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2023 at his residence. A visitation will be held at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Rd, Columbus, GA, on Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 6:00pm -8:00pm.

Phillip was born on July 14, 1949 in San Francisco, CA to the late LaVone and Fred Files. Phillip served 10 years in the United States Army after being drafted to serve in Vietnam. After serving his country, he became a mechanic and a great asset to multiple companies. It was known that Phillip was a kind man who would go out of his way to help the community. Phillip enjoyed collecting items such as Coca-Cola products, knives, cars, and anything John Deere.

Phillip was preceded in death by his wife, Diana Files as well as his parents. He was survived by his two sons, David (Amanda) Files of Cordele, GA, and Jonathan Files of Columbus, GA; brother Joe of California; two granddaughters, Sierra Files and Emily Files; and one great-grandson, Braxton Files.
