Phyllis “Patsy” D’Nita Grimes, 82, of Smiths Station, AL passed away early Saturday morning, August 9, 2025, at Piedmont Regional Hospital Midtown in Columbus, GA. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm EDT on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday one hour prior to her memorial service at the funeral home in Phenix City, AL.

Patsy was born was born July 20, 1943, in Toccoa, GA daughter of the late Wallace R. Stowe and Ruby Wade Stowe. Her career began with Pugh Insurance Agency until becoming a realtor in 1985 with Bowden Realty. She was a dedicated and amazing realtor servicing clients for over 10 years. After retirement, she found a love for serving her community by working at the local VFW Post 5228 in Smiths Station, AL. She never met a stranger in all her years of working. Patsy’s greatest love and commitment was to her family and dearest friends. She enjoyed spending time with Pete and Molly (her precious Yorkie) while watching crime shows and college football, doing puzzle books, knitting, and cross stitching. Before her illness restricted her social activities, she loved riding motorcycles, traveling and camping. She certainly enjoyed living her life to the fullest… wide open and full of adventure. She was a Christian woman by faith. 

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Foy M. Grimes and a brother, Glynn Stowe.

She is survived by her three daughters, Denese McLeod (Roy) of Midland, GA, Cindy Sigmund (Mark) of Columbus, GA, and Katherine Gentry (Chris Paniccioli) of Phenix City, AL; her devoted partner, Pete Egerer of Smiths Station, AL; one sister, Candise Stowe (Ricky Preddy) of Phenix City, AL, and sister-in-law, Mary Louise Stowe; eight grandchildren, Daulton Drew (Sarah), Avery Drew Edmonds (Dayton), Dylan Gentry, Dawson Gentry, Brian McLeod (Heather), Ashley Sigmund (Charlie Philp), Heather Sigmund (Matt King), and Alex Sigmund (Brad Keck); ten great grandchildren, Hadleigh Edmonds, Daxton Edmonds, Emilia Drew, Sutton Drew, Kaleb McLeod (Olivia), Andru McLeod, Nathan King, Joshua King, Adelaide King, and Cora Philp; several in-laws (truly brothers and sisters), numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family members and many special friends, including Frankie and Amy George, whom she loved like a son and daughter.
