Mrs. Rebecca Hamilton “Ms. Becky” Mitchell

Rebecca Hamilton “Ms. Becky” Mitchell, 71, of Seale, Alabama, was welcomed into Heavens gates on Sunday, January 30, 2022, at Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, Georgia, while surrounded by her family.

The family will receive friends Sunday, February 6, 2022, from 6-8:00 pm at Landmark Church of the Nazarene located at 270 Lee Road 456 Phenix City, AL 36867. In addition, the family will host a memorial service to be announced at a later date.

Becky was born in Phenix City, AL the daughter of the late Guy Monroe Hamilton and Veda Ellison Hamilton. Becky set the example to others by placing her faith and walk in the Lord. She was born with a servant heart and placed all others before herself. She was a life-long member of Landmark Church of the Nazarene where she served God through serving others. Becky enjoyed singing gospel music, participating in the church choir and special music. She was employed for twenty-five years at Girls Incorporated where she loved and mentored the youth of our community. Becky was later employed by the Phenix City Board of Education serving others as a Nutritionist until her retirement. Above all, Becky loved her family. She valued the time she was able to spend with each one of them. She impacted their lives by setting the example of love, faith and devotion before them.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mitchell is preceded in death by three sisters Betty-Jo Poe, Virginia Gerald and Juanita Jenkins and one nephew Michael Creasy.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of fifty-one years Wayne Mitchell; two daughters Tammy Hatcher and her husband Jason of Box Springs, GA and Jennifer Greene of Seale, AL; one sister Jackie Creasy of Alta Vista, VA and six grandchildren Emma Hatcher, JW Hatcher, Jacob Hatcher and his wife Riley, Harley Greene, Jayley Greene and Mitchell Greene and numerous additional family members and friends.
