Mrs. Rebecca “Cay” Tice

March 17, 1958 — September 14, 2022

Rebecca “Cay” Tice, 64, of Salem, Alabama, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at her residence while surrounded by her loving family.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM EST, on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Concord Baptist Church with Rev. Bud Passmore and Rev. Curt Mize officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Tice was born in Phenix City, Alabama, the daughter of Ewell P. Austin and Ruth Singleton Austin. She achieved her Associates Degree from Chattahoochee Valley State Community College. Mrs. Tice enjoyed reading and cross stitching. Mrs. Cay’s home was always open to host any family event and all were welcomed. She enjoyed traveling and going to the beach. She was an avid Auburn Football fan. Mrs. Tice was an active member of Concord Baptist Church where she loved teaching children’s Sunday School. Above all, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

Mrs. Tice was preceded in death by her father Ewell P. Austin and her sister Cynthia Bradley.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of forty-four years Charles “Danny” Tice; mother Ruth “Nana” Austin; daughters Anna Elswick (Mark) of Salem, AL and Laura Jones (Stuart) of Salem, AL; life-long best friend Deborah Webster of Salem, AL; precious cousin Wayne Pittman (Amelia) of Phenix City, AL; brother Lamar Austin of Statesville, NC and five grandchildren Marissa Bradley, Candice Jones, Lillie Jones, Reagan Elswick and Mae Jones.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting contributions be made in Cay’s memory to Concord Baptist Church’s Children’s Ministry (321 Lee Road 251 Salem, AL 36874 cbcsalem.net) or American Alzheimer’s Association ( act.alz.org)
