Reverend Emory Norman Evans, 93, of Phenix City, AL passed away peacefully Friday afternoon, December 26, 2025, in the comfort of his home while surrounded by his loving family.

A Celebration of his Heavenly Home Going Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am EST on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City with Rev. Billy Fortune officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EST at the funeral home in Phenix City.

Reverend Evans was born December 24, 1932, in Miami, FL, son of the late Joseph Lee Evans and Fannie Kate Baskin Evans. He served faithfully as Minister and Pastor of Faith Temple Assembly of God Church in Phenix City for 50 years. He proudly served his country and was a Veteran of the United Sates Army. He had worked in earlier years as sheet metal fabricator for Georgia Roofing and Sheet Metal in Columbus, GA. Reverend Evans was passionate about his love for people, he loved fellowship and was faithful in visiting the nursing homes and hospitals, a dedicated prayer warrior always praying and helping everyone he could that was in need. He enjoyed fellowship at the local Waffle House and watching and cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide with his son. Pastor Evans light was his faith in God, his family, and sharing the Gospel with all!

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Burnice Wall, Ola Downing, and Lois Newman; and a brother, Olan Evans.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 71 ½ years, Pauline Jackson Evans of Phenix City, AL; two daughters, Crystal Joy Gray and husband Michael of Smiths Station, Al, Stacy Lee Jackson and husband Keith of Columbus, GA; son, Emory Norman “Mickey” Evans, Jr. and wife Sharon of Smiths Station, AL; a very special niece loved as a daughter, Elaine Holland Ward and husband Bobby of Mauk, GA; seven grandchildren, David Godwin, Jr., Nicolas Godwin, Tabitha Godwin, Tasha Goins (Paul), Ashley Cooper, Meagan Evans, and Jacob Floyd; numerous great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other loving family members, church family, and many caring friends.
