Richard G. Carpenter

Richard G. Carpenter, 76, of Phenix City, AL died at Emory Health Care of Atlanta on Thursday, June 05, 2025.

Funeral Services will be held 12:00 noon Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL with Dr. David Kees officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday morning from 11:00 until 12:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.

Mr. Carpenter was born June 8, 1948 in Columbus, GA, son of the late Richard “Dick” Edward Carpenter and Helen Jackson Carpenter Daniel. He proudly served his county in the United States Marine Corp. After his service in the military, he spent most of his career in Architectural Design, with Peak Construction and also his own company, Classic Designs, LLC. Mr. Carpenter enjoyed fishing, hunting and was a big Alabama fan. Above all, he was a loving husband and father. Mr. Carpenter was a member of Smiths Station Baptist Church.

Mr. Carpenter was preceded in death by his parents, Dick Carpenter and Helen Carpenter Daniel; and a brother, Jeffrey E. Carpenter.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Peggy K. Carpenter: two sons, Richard B. Carpenter and Kevin W. Carpenter; as well as extended family and friends
