Richard Joseph Flemings

Richard Joseph Flemings, 60, of Opelika, AL, passed away Friday, December 15, 2017 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL.

The family will announce a memorial service at a later date.

Mr. Flemings was born in Columbus, GA, son of the late Maurice Joseph Flemings and Helen Ward Flemings. He was a heavy equipment mechanic for the Lee County Highway Department, which he just recently retired from due to health reasons.

Mr. Flemings is survived by one step-daughter Dawn Wood and husband Jimmy of Smiths Station, AL; one sister Diane Cartin and husband David of Walterboro, SC; one brother Jerry Flemings and wife Sandra of Columbus, GA and two grandchildren Joseph and Caleb Wood of Smiths Station, AL.
