Roger Lee Denny

CSM (Ret) Roger Denny, 78, of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away peacefully at Piedmont Midtown in Columbus, Georgia, on Friday, April 21, 2023, with his family by his side.

A Funeral Service will begin at 3:00 P.M. EST on Monday April 24, 2023, in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 U.S. Highway 431 North Phenix City, Alabama, with Rev. Ricky Ward officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 P.M. EST, at the funeral home. A private inurnment will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery at a later date.

Mr. Denny was born in Anderson, Indiana, the son of the late Merrill Pyle and Doris Ingram Pyle. After completing his education, Mr. Denny enlisted in the United States Army, where he proudly served his country for twenty-six years before retiring as a Command Sergeant Major. Mr. Denny was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. In his spare time, he was most often found on a golf course with his golfing friends. He enjoyed the sport and the fellowship he had with his friends. Above all, he enjoyed the time he spent with his family.

Mr. Denny was preceded in death by his father Merrill Pyle.

Those left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Frances Jordan Denny of Phenix City, AL; mother Doris Ingram Pyle of Anderson, IN; daughters Joyce Chronic (Neal) of Fortson, GA, Gwen Gallaway of Beauregard, AL and Chrisandra Atkins of Smith Station, AL; sons Bobby Atkins of Columbus, GA, James Atkins (Barbara) of Phenix City, AL and Thomas Atkins of Smiths Station, AL; twelve grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
