Mrs. Ruth Edna Jones Sims

February 18, 1935 — September 20, 2021

Ruth Edna Jones Sims, 86, of Phenix City, Alabama, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, September 20, 2021, at her residence, while surrounded by her family.

Ruth Edna Sims was born February 18, 1935 as the 11th child of Rev. R K Jones and Leila Mae Jones. She was born in Florala, Alabama, but lived most of her childhood and all of her married life in Phenix City, Alabama. In 1955, Ruth Edna married the love of her life, her childhood sweetheart, Malcom Sims. Among her many accomplishments, she was a homemaker, a seamstress, and a talented pianist/organist. Ruth Edna served the church in various ways, including playing for congregations from the time she was a young girl until recent years. She lived her life for the Lord and pointed to Him in both big and small ways at all times. Because of this love for the Lord, she believed it was her greatest joy to work beside her husband as a true companion and helpmate.
