SFC (Ret) David “Dave” Wayne Raleigh, 62, of Salem, Al passed away Friday morning, May 2, 2025, in the comfort of his home.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held Friday, May 9, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. (EST) at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery with Rev. Ricky Ward officiating. The family will receive friends at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City from 6:00 to 8:00 pm (EST) Thursday evening, May 8, 2025
Mr. Raleigh was born November 13, 1962, in Jacksonville, FL and was the son of the late Percy Alonzo Raleigh and Oma Marie Hawkins Raleigh. He served our country honorably and was a veteran of the United States Army retiring after many years of committed service. After his military career, he continued serving at Fort Benning, GA as a Senior ATRRS Analyst until his retirement from civil service in December 2024. Dave enjoyed traveling, cheering on the Florida Gators, and was a huge Kyle Busch NASCAR fan. But his greatest joy and love was spending time with his family, friends and his animals.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Raleigh.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 24 years, Tammy Lorraine Kelley Raleigh of Salem, AL; two sons, David Raleigh and wife Tabitha of Clarksville, TN, and William Maddox of Ypsilanti, MI; two brothers, Percy Raleigh and wife Nancy, and Doug Raleigh, all of Florida; two precious granddaughters, Emiline Raleigh, and Katarina Raleigh; father and mother-in-law, Dean and Pauline Kelley of Enterprise, AL; sister and brother-in-law, Christy and Paul Roberts of Daleville, AL; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous other family members, co-workers, and many caring friends.
