SFC (Ret) Richard A Tassoni, Sr

SFC (Ret) Richard A. Tassoni, Sr., 70, of Phenix City, AL died at his home on Friday, September 12, 2025.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM (EST) on Saturday, September 20, 2025, in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Donnie Lumpkin officiating. Interment with U. S. Army honors will follow in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 1:30 PM (EST). The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour at the funeral home on Saturday.

SFC (Ret) Tassoni was born October 13, 1954, in Providence, RI son of the late Joseph Tassoni and Marjorie Millard Tassoni. He had retired from the U. S. Army after 18 years of committed service to our country. After his military career he worked with Loomis Fargo and Brinks Security driving armored trucks, finally working with Vance Security at the gates of Ft. Benning before finally retiring again.

He was a patriot, God fearing, family man who was sometimes a little challenging to get along with, but he was a solid rock for our family. Mr. Richard loved his grands and great-grands, and they were his world.

Mr. Tassoni was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Marjorie Tassoni; three brothers, Joseph, Michael R. and David A. Tassoni.

Survivors include his wife, Myong Suk Tassoni, Phenix City, AL; two sons, Richard A. Tassoni, Jr. and Joseph Michael Tassoni both of Phenix City, AL; one sister, Brenda A. Tassoni and her son, Anthony Tassoni; six grandchildren, McKenzie, Bruce, Addison, Ally Brooke, Kaleigh and Cyleah; three great-grandchildren, Kylan, Kyison and Kamden; sister-in-law, Donna Tassoni and two nephews, Steven and David Tassoni; three strong friends, Martha Greathouse, Mike Jones and Sonny Torello; numerous nieces, nephews and other friends.
