Shirley A. Benzin

Shirley A. Benzin, 77, of Phenix City, AL died peacefully while at Piedmont, Midtown, Columbus, GA on Thursday, September 28, 2023.

Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 AM (EST) on Monday, October 02, 2023 in Lakeview Memory Gardens with Rev. Donny Brown officiating according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Benzin was born December 7, 1945 in Fulton County, GA daughter of the late Sarah Louise Williams Graham. She was a seamstress by trade working for several local businesses. Mrs. Benzin loved her Lord and family above everything else.

Mrs. Benzin was preceded in death by her mother, Sarah Graham; two daughters, Cheryl Elaine Evans and Rhonda N. Evans; a sister, Deborah Jane Cheney; two brothers, Melvin Cheney and Granvel Jesse Cheney, Jr.; one great-granddaughter, Rae Lynn Martin.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years Charles K. Benzin, Phenix City, AL; four daughters, Sherry Jennings, (Bryce), Regina Hayes (James), Cynthia Culpepper (Billy) and Cassandra Benzin all of Phenix City, AL; two sisters, Sharon Griffin (Jerry), Phenix City, AL and Sue Daughtery, Salem, AL; six grandchildren, Matthew Jennings, Jessica Harris, Brandon Culpepper, Cassidy Culpepper, Albert Martin and Gina Kay Williams; six precious great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
