Shirley Isaacs, 82, of Phenix city, AL passed away late Thursday night, November 2, 2023, at Magnolia Manor Health Care in Columbus, GA.
Ms. Isaacs was born July 20, 1941, in Phenix City, AL, daughter of the late Robert Wooten and Lucy Bland Wooten. She was the owner/operator of Shirley Isaacs School of Dance in Phenix City where she enjoyed teaching dance that impacted and influenced many of her students’ lives in a positive outlook. She was a lover of nature and animals, tending to her many cats she loved and raised. She was a Baptist by faith.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Captain Royal “George” Isaacs who was killed in action in the Vietnam War in 1965. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Garnett and all her siblings, Grace Irene Cancel, Milton Humphrey, Lucious Humphrey, Pete Devlin, and nephew Pat Devlin.
She is survived by several special nieces and nephews, Renee Dobkin (Mark), Sheila Barbaree (Jerry), Larry Devlin (Kathy), other nieces, and nephews, and numerous other loving family members.
A private burial will take place at Lakeview Memory Gardens in Phenix City where she will be laid to rest with her late husband, CPT Royal “George” Isaacs. There will be a private special time of Remembrance to honor the life of Ms. Shirley Isaacs by her loving family.
