Sonora Jeanne Grimes

Sonora Jeanne Grimes, 49, of Columbus, GA passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown. Memorial services will be held at Village Church, 1608 14th Court, Phenix City, AL on Monday, October 25, 2021 beginning at 12:00 pm with Pastor Jonathan Taylor officiating.

Sonora was born on January 14, 1972 in Virginia to the late Richard L. Grimes and Christella Jeanne Moore. She was a cab driver for many years with Radio Cab Company. Sonora loved her family and playing bingo. She liked sharing a good joke and laughing with friends and her passengers as she worked. Her good sense of humor and caring personality made it easy to share a smile and laughter with many friends. She was greatly loved by many for her compassion and willingness to help anyone in need. Sonora was a caring, strong, and independent woman with a big heart.

Survivors include her daughter Elizabeth Grimes, sons Matthew Grimes and Sean Grimes, brothers Brian Moore, Richard Grimes, Michael Grimes, Ronnie Moore (Tammy), and James Moore (Catara); and many friends.
