Mrs. Tommie Jean Gallops

Mrs. Tommie Jean Gallops, 83, of Smiths Station, AL passed away Thursday, April 14, 2022 at her home.

A funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2022 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL with Rev. Ken Dawson officiating.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends Monday afternoon from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m., one hour before the service, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Gallops was born January 14, 1939 in Columbus, GA, daughter of the late J. B. Skinner and Annie Weaver Skinner.  She worked as an inspector for over 46 years at Sunshine Biscuit, Keebler and later Kellogg.  She enjoyed working in her flower garden, but above all, spending time with her family.  Mrs. Gallops was a faithful member of Cascade Hills Church in Columbus, GA.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by grandson, Justin Paul and a step-grandson, Matthew Holmes.

She is survived by her loving husband of 16 years, Walter L. Gallops of Smiths Station, AL; three sons, Richard L. Lewis and wife Ava of Marion County, GA, Michael Paul and wife Carol of Midland, GA and Jeff Jones of Phenix City, AL; step-sons, Edward “Spud” Holmes (Allison), Grady Holmes (Debbie), Wesley Holmes, Sr. (Theresa); grandchildren, Michael Arnold (Mandy), Christina Lewis, Carrie Kennison (Mark) and Brent Paul (Kacie); step-grandchildren, Tasha (Stephen), Kimberly (Steven), Edward III (Misty), Grady, Jr. (Christina), Jane, Sam, Wesley, Jr. (Emily), Corey (Kasie), Dylan (Alex); great-grandchildren, Blakely Arnold, Ricky Arnold (Caroline), Semaj Williams (Diane), Jeremiah Lewis, Kolson Paul, Kade Paul, Kash Paul, Emma McFarlin and Joseph McFarlin; step-great-grandchildren, Ty, Addison, Hunter, Steven, Trey, Gage, Chase, Hunter, Gavin, Grayson, Kaylee, Preston, Mandalin, Zayden, Blakely and Charlie; a great-great-granddaughter, Ja’Leah Williams; other extended family and friends.
