Tony Ray Mitchell, 53, of Phenix City, AL, passed away on May 17, 2025. A visitation will be held at 2:00 pm EST, on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 Hwy 431 N., Phenix City, AL 36867, with a funeral service following at 3:00 pm EST. Family and friends will be invited to a reception at the residence of Tony and Anna Mitchell following services.
Tony was born in Columbus, Georgia, on March 16, 1972, to Wanda Hopkins and Billy Ray Mitchell. After high school, Tony joined the Air Force earning numerous medals such as the Good Conduct Medal, Achievement Medal, Outstanding Unit Award, and National Defense Service Medal. Afterwards, he began a career with Sterling Chemical and remained there for 30 years. Tony loved football, specifically University of Georgia Football. He enjoyed motorcycles and cars, new and old. Tony would go on a ride on his motorcycle any time he could. He could never pass up a cup of coffee or guacamole and bacon. Tony was a kind man who loved his family. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
Tony is preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents; Aunt Betty; and Uncle James Robert.
Tony Mitchell is survived by his beloved wife, Anna Mitchell; children, Masha Larichva and Dmitri Dimchenko; parents, Wanda Hopkins (Greg) and Billy Ray Mitchell (Teresa); and brother, Paul Purvis (Shawna).
