Tony Tyson, 64, of Smiths Station, AL died while at East Alabama Medical Center, Opelika, AL on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 2:00 PM (EST) on Tuesday, March 03, 2026, in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Ricky Ward officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Tyson was born on September 16, 1961, in Phenix City, AL son of the late Cecil Tyson and Sarah Roberson. He was a heavy equipment operator for Warr Grading for many years. In his spare time, he loved to fish and spend time with his family and friends. Mr. Tyson was a member of Grace Freewill Baptist Church where he worshiped with family and friends.
We will remember him as a great husband, dad and Pa. He had a big heart and was quick to help anyone. Thank you for the fond memories and all the good times. You will always be in our hearts.
Mr. Tyson was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Tyson and Sarah Roberson; his wife of 41 years, Patricia Hall Tyson; two siblings, Susan Sewell and Rickey Tyson.
Survivors include his two daughters, Tiffany Hall Brown (Jason), Ellerslie, GA and Toni Crystal Tabb (Mark, the favorite son-in-law) Smiths Station, AL; one son, Anthony Tyson, Smiths Station, AL; one sister, Sherry McNair (Kenny) and one brother, Kenneth Tyson; six grandchildren, Laurel Baker, Alexis Stevens, Jaden Brown, Dylan Tabb, Hailey Tabb and Logan Brown; nieces, nephews and friends.
