Toshiko Leatherwood

Toshiko “Barbara” Naguse Leatherwood, 90, of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at her daughter’s residence.
A Funeral Service for Ms. Leatherwood will be held at 11:00 am EST on Friday, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, with Rev. Johnny Ellison officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00pm Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Ms. Leatherwood was born in Kumamoto Japan the daughter of Satoki Moriuchi and Hasuye Nagasei (Moriuchi). Ms. Leatherwood was as person who always enjoyed fellowshipping with others, especially while eating out. The beach was another favorite place for her to visit. Above all, she cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Leatherwood was preceded in death by her husbands Lawrence Stamp and Herman Ray Leatherwood; infant daughter Diane Leatherwood and son Ray Leatherwood.
Left to cherish her memory is one daughter Linda Leatherwood Bass (Cody) of Phenix City, AL; son Paul Stamp (Sheril) of Phenix City, AL; Daughter in Law Tammy Leatherwood of Phenix City, AL; grandchildren Jason Stamp (Amy), Brandi Stamp Laney (Nathan), Kristy Exum (Jacob), Brett Leatherwood (Beth), Rebecca Tarleton, Misty Norris (Ronnie) and Christopher Bass (Christy); great grandchildren Banks Stamp, Brody Stamp, Jolie Kate Stamp, Ellison Laney, Sam Laney, Kaylee Brooke Exum, Richard Vitzen, Taya Shirley, Davis Leatherwood, Deacon Leatherwood, Conner Perry, Gage Norris, Dalton Norris and Christopher Bass; two great great grandchildren and numerous extended family members and loving friends.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt “Thank You” to the staff of Kindred Hospice for their care and devotion to Ms. Leatherwood.
