Veda Dawn Hammonds Bailey, 52, of Phenix City, AL died at Piedmont Columbus Midtown, Columbus, GA on Tuesday, May 05, 2026.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM (EST) at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL. A private Service of Remembrance will be held at a later date.

Veda was born October 14, 1973, in Camden, AR daughter of Louis Hammonds and Phyllis Moran Hammonds. She was a homemaker who was committed to her family, especially the grandchildren. Veda loved life and lived it to its fullest every day. She enjoyed simple things like just going to the store, shopping with her daughter or just getting out of the house.

We will remember her smile and the way she lit up a room when she walked into it. We will miss her, but she is forever in our hearts.

Survivors other than her parents, Louis and Phyllis Hammonds, include her husband of 33 years, Thomas Bailey; daughter, Kaitlyn Wolfe (Adam); son, Dakota Bailey (Lilly); one sister, Anita Hammonds; five grandchildren, Blake, Walker, Christian, Kyle and Izabella; other family members and friends.
