Velma “Granny” Jean Phillips Hall, 84, of Phenix City, AL died peacefully while at Bridgeway Health and Rehab on Monday, April 20, 2026.
Private Services were held at Lakeview Memory Gardens according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL. 

Mrs. Hall was born September 04, 1941, in Clayton, AL daughter of the late Spurgeon Phillips and Bama Belle Williams Phillips. She was a homemaker and loved to raise flowers. Her favorites were roses and gardenia’s. Granny often shared her beautiful flowers with others in cut arrangements, cuttings or seeds. 

Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her parents, Spurgeon Phillips and Bama Belle Phillips; first husband, Cecil Hightower; sisters, Mary Alice Jones, Inez Carmichael, Diane Shiver and RosaMae Creel; brothers, Shelly Phillips, Charlie Phillips and James Ray Phillips.

Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Jessie Daniel “Dan” Hall, III; four children, Phyllis Singletary (Grady), Bonnie Shaw (Butch), Joe Hightower (Susan) and Dewayne Hightower (Tina); ten grandchildren, Courtney Woodham (Brandon), Lindsey Drury (Wes), Nicky Singletary (Kristina), Stacy Richardson (Jeremy), Marissa Branch (Cole), Mitchell Shaw, Josh Hightower (Victoria), Sammie Henderson (Chandler), Kevin Shaw (Stepheny) and Stephanie Haberkorn(Steve); sixteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
