Vernard Eugene Barbee

Vernard Eugene Barbee, 87, of Phenix City, AL passed away Saturday, January 23, 2016 in the comfort of his home.

Mr. Barbee was born July 15, 1928 in Phenix City, AL to the late Jesse James Barbee and Alma Lee Pope Barbee.  He was the owner / operator of Barbee Fixture Company and also had work with Franks Foods.  He served our country and was a Veteran of the United States Navy.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and the outdoors, and was a member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church.  Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Cutshall, a sister, Nadine Barbee, and one brother, Steve Barbee.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 65 years, Sarah Barbee, daughter, Lynn Spear, son Donnie Barbee, and one sister, Peggy Neal and husband Dan.  (6) Grandchildren, Dawn McLendon (Jarrell), Jonathan Barbbe, Shane Little, Kimberly Tyler (Scott), Jeremy Spear, and Tamara Cutshall and one great grandchild, Tyler Baileigh.
