Wilburn “Lee” Riley, 69, of Smiths Station, AL passed away Sunday, July 23, 2023, at the Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am EST on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City with Rev. Michael Greer officiating. A private interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens in Phenix City.
Mr. Riley was born September 17, 1953, in Bordeaux, France, son, of the late Robert Z. Riley and Sarah McLendon Hernandez. He had worked as a general contractor in commercial construction as well working with Terry’s Hardware and several automobile dealerships. He served our country faithfully and was a Veteran of the United States Army. He was a Baptist by faith.
Other than his parents, he was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Eladio Hernandez, who loved and raised him as his own son. He was preceded in death by his wife, Johnnie Sue Trawick Riley, and several siblings.
He is survived by one daughter, Cheyann Riley Wyndham and husband Nick; two sons, Jeffery Riley and wife Kendall, and Thomas Jared Riley and wife Bobbie Jo; step-daughter, Tonya Sanders and husband Jerry; one sister, Ana Hernandez Earl; two brothers, Bobby Hernandez, and Johnny Hernandez; seven grandchildren, Conner Wright and wife Katie, Corey Wright and wife Alexis, Jake Riley, twins, Layke and Layton Riley, Mattie Ann Riley, and Blake Sanders; two precious great grandchildren, Eli and Sydney; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and many caring friends.
