Mr. Wiley E. Paul, 91, of Smiths Station, AL passed away Sunday, April 12, 2026 at the Bethany House in Auburn, AL.
A Graveside service will be held 11:00 am EST Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at Lakeview Memory Gardens in Phenix City, AL with Rev. Joe Timberlake officiating.
Mr. Paul was born December 23, 1934 in Morgan, GA, son of the late Ira Paul and Lillian Milner Paul. He retired from the Muscogee County School System where he worked in communications. Mr. Paul was known as a hard working simple man. He grew up farming and had a passion for raising chickens and growing sugar cane. Mr. Paul included his family in the growing, processing and selling of cane syrup. He also enjoyed canning with his wife, fishing and gathering pecans. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his family. Mr. Paul attended Smiths Station Baptist Church.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Nora Wilene Dixon Paul; sisters, Frances Vigil and Grace Atkinson; brothers, Roscoe Paul, Curtis Paul, Lamar “Bud” Paul, Willie Dean Paul, Vernon Paul and Jack Paul.
He is survived by three daughters, Glynthia Paul Wylie, Teri Paul Rogers and husband Tracy and Connie Paul Owens and husband Kenny; eleven grandchildren, Shawn Cantrell, Eric Cantrell, Clint Hammond, Canaan Hammond (Gayle), Jacob Roberts (Brittany), Caleb Roberts, Eric Owens (Brooke), Lacie Vaughn (Joseph), Chris Rogers (Mary), Anthony Rogers, and Jeremy Jones; fifteen great- grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and many caring friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bethany House, 1171 Gatewood Dr., Auburn, AL 36830 in memory of Mr. Paul.
